№ 01 · Spring 2026 · The Working Harbor

A field guide for a working harbor.

We live here. The tides go out twice a day, the gondola crosses the harbor most afternoons in summer, the fishing boats moor along the east side. This is a guide to the places we'd actually walk a visitor through — restaurants we eat at, hikes we take, businesses we recommend with our names attached.

We are not the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce. We are not affiliated with the City of Gig Harbor. We have no obligation to list every business, and we don't.

What you'll find here

  • An editorial guide — twenty-something attractions and restaurants we'd vouch for. Updated weekly when something changes.
  • A directory — every active Gig Harbor business pulled from public Google data, free to claim, indexed for SEO.
  • Itineraries — day-trip plans for visitors from Seattle, Tacoma, or out of state. With actual departure times and parking notes.
  • An events calendar — what's actually happening this week.

How we make money

Two ways. First, businesses pay $29-299 a month to upgrade their directory listing. Second, when you book a hotel, a tour, or a reservation through a link on this site, we sometimes get a small commission — at no cost to you. We don't run intrusive display ads, we don't paywall content, and we don't write paid reviews disguised as editorial.

If we get this right, the directory pays the editorial. The editorial earns the directory. Everyone wins, especially the visitor.
